India women thrash South Africa women by an innings and 34 runs at Mysore

India women thrashed South Africa women at Mysore.

India women crushed South Africa women by an innings and 34 runs in the one-off Test match played at Mysore. Thirush Kamini and Poonam Raut notched up well-measured hundreds. Harmanpreet Kaur was the star performer with a ball in hand as she took nine wickets in the match.

For South Africa, Mignon du Preez, South Africa's captain, played with fine prowess of adhesion to essay a hundred. In fact, when du Preez and Trisha Chetty were batting at the crease, South Africa seemed to have a glimmer of hope of saving the Test match. However, once du Preez was dismissed by Rajeshwari Gayakwari, wickets fell at regular intervals and South Africa eventually lost the game by a huge margin.
This is only the second time India have met South Africa in a Test match. Back in 2001-02, India thumped South Africa by 10 wickets at Boland Park.
